Songs

Hi year 6.

If you like pop music, lyrics training is for you! There are thousands of songs for you to listen to and fill in the gaps. You can choose your level of difficulty too. Go to the webpage in the link below, and then click on 'buscar' or `search'at the top of the page.
Choose a song or artist (English, not Spanish, please!) Then choose a level...You will find that the song plays at the speed you need it too, and you can repeat if you didn't hear it clearly.

HAVE FUN! Send me a post to let me know how you got on, and any songs you want to recommend.

Webpages to practise English

Hello Year 6.
Here are some great webpages to check out....have a look, they are lots of fun! Try practising sports and leisure vocabulary, but feel free to look at other stuff too. The bbc webpages are gret for practising your comprehension skills, they are designed for English children. There is also a great one with lots of pop and rock songs to sing along to.

 Have fun!

Sports

Hello year six.

Soon we are going to be doing the chapter in the P.E.T. book about sports, so by way of preparation, I would like you to do the activities in the following links: (click on these links...) Do the 3 exercises for each link...(there are two matching exercises and one gap-fill):

Olympic sports

Now for a bit of practise with linking words:

Conjunctions (linking words)

You could also try playing some games on the Cambridge English webpage to practise English. You just need to click on the link below, then play 'Funland' first, and 'Academy island' later. You will probably find that 'Funland' is a bit easy for you at the lower levels, but that it gets more challenging towards the end. 'Academy Island' is more difficult but it's good practice, so give it a try! (You can try the lower level games like 'Monkey puzzles' and 'Shop and drop' for a bit of revision too, if you like.)

Last of all, a little speaking practice: describe this picture in as much detail as you can: what's in the foreground (el primer plano,) the background (el fondo), why you think the children are running, how old they are, what time of day/year it is, what the weather is like, etc. Always give reasons for your answers.
